On Why Humans Shouldn't be Allowed to Operate Heavy Machinery

I tend to think the best of humans.

I like to believe that deep down we are all (or at least 99% of us) are good people.  Sometimes these people make poor decisions for noble reasons.  But sometimes people make poor decisions for selfish reasons.

Yet I continue to believe that treating people with dignity and respect is the best way to go through life, because not only will it get you farther in life, but it is also how I would like to be treated.

But there are often times when humanity lets me down.  The anti-gay agenda of the religious right is a good example.  Bigotry and hatred of people that are different is not a way to help the betterment of human kind (yet I'm sure if you talk to these people, they have what they believe are noble reasons for their cause).

This morning I was struck (quite literally) by a more personal example of humanity's tendency to disappoint.  I was in stopped at a light in traffic when I got a friendly tap from the car behind me.  It wasn't bad, the guy just didn't slow to a stop as quick as he thought (probably because he was texting - take note, boys and girls).

I glanced in my rear view mirror and saw a 50-something cantankerous looking man yelling "SHIT!" to himself in his car.  I tried to catch his eye as if to say "hey it's alright, let's just pull over to make sure there's nothing wrong," but his eyes went immediately down to his lap, where I assume his cell phone was.

As traffic started moving I put my turn signal on to show I was going to get off the road, and he didn't seem to pay attention.  As I kept moving forward he was clearly not paying attention because he wasn't moving.  After I was a couple hundred feet away he realized traffic wasn't stopped and started forward.  And then passed me.

I pulled over and there was no damage of course, just a little knick on the underside fo the bumper.

This man is an example of a letdown in humanity.  Any decent person would have at least stopped for two minutes to make sure things were okay.  It's the right thing to do and the respectful thing to do.  Yet this man not only hit my car, but disrespected me further by not stopping.

I still have my faith in humanity.  I believe this was simply an example of people who make bad choices.

However I do believe the gods understand karma, as the guy was driving a Honda Accord so new it didn't have license plates.  Ha!

Somewhere along the line of life I've lost faith in humanity. Cynicism has taken a strong hold over me, and it's pretty miserable. I need to find my way back to looking at the bright side and giving people the benefit of the doubt, but until then...

The thing about the religious people who are fighting against us is that often times their reasons are not noble, but selfish. What I was taught in Sunday school is that the better christian you are, the bigger and more grand your palace in heaven will be. You sit in church with a preacher using excerpts from the bible that support his personal opinions and agenda. Then you have people around you who are listening to the same thing. Disagreeing with your pastor is taboo. So everyone agrees by default and gets all charged up. Certainly from that point, there are people who fight against gays because they truly believe (and it's reinforced in them every Sunday) that we are a harm to society. Unfortunately there are plenty who latch onto this issue as something they can fight against, to be "good christians" and secure themselves a sweet spot next to god in heaven. That is, to them, still considered a noble cause because by fighting for a larger spot in heaven you are inherently doing "His" work.

Disgusting.

I apologize if this may offend anyone reading. I know this is not the case with all religious people or all religions, but this was vastly the case in my baptist upbringing.

Good day, sun shines!
There have were times of troubles when I didn't know about opportunities of getting high yields on investments. I was a dump and downright stupid person.
I have never thought that there weren't any need in big initial investment.
Nowadays, I'm happy and lucky , I started to get real income.
It gets down to choose a correct companion who utilizes your funds in a right way - that is incorporate it in real business, parts and divides the profit with me.

You can ask, if there are such firms? I'm obliged to answer the truth, YES, there are. Please be informed of one of them:
